Hello reader,
When I started writing these newsletters a couple of years ago, I was knee-deep in my house-hunting phase. The colleague who handled all of our newsletters (shout out, Betty 👋) would occasionally ask if I’d succeeded yet, saying she had friends who would be invested in my journey towards home ownership.
Now that I’m two years into having my own place, I gotta say that it’s pretty sweet. Even with all the chores and bills, there’s really nothing like splaying across your sofa, watching Netflix on your TV, and pouring yourself a drink from your fridge.
Property, specifically in Asia, also appears to be top of mind for Feedback Ventures, the VC featured in today’s premium story. Read on to find out why.
Today we look at:
- Feedback Ventures’ bullish view on Asia’s proptech sector
- The US$80 million fundraise of an Indian logistics company
- Other newsy highlights such as Carsome’s new CFO and the US$132 million infusion into Singlife

What do you prioritize when looking for holiday accommodations? Besides practical details like amenities and proximity to train stations, my wife and I like to browse Airbnbs that have “character” – the property could have cool furnishings or be located in an interesting part of town.
Of course, VCs also have their own criteria when choosing investments. For Singapore-based Feedback Ventures, proptech firms in Asia Pacific are no. 1 on its list.
- Underrated: Co-founder Ethan Cheng says proptech is among the top 10 verticals for investors outside of APAC, with more than 60 VCs focused on the sector. That same emphasis doesn’t exist in the region.
- Focus: Feedback Ventures focuses on early-stage investments and has backed nine proptech and hospitality companies in Asia to date, including Pinhome in Indonesia, Uwi in the Philippines, Homebase in Vietnam, and SensorFlow in Singapore.
- Soft skills: Cheng adds that “seed investors have to depend on instinct and character judgment” in absence of other indicators, which only show up in the later stages.
