Weโre the Tech in Asia editorial team. Ask us anything!
Hello TIA community,

Iโm Terence, the managing editor of Tech in Asia. I turn caffeine (and sometimes alcohol) into words. I come up with the editorial strategy, make sure our content is in tip-top shape, and build the best possible team to craft content that informs and entertains you, the reader. Answering your questions today are the editors Judith, Jeff, Steven, Malu, me, as well as members of the editorial team who arenโt running around town to get the latest scoop.
Do ask us about:
- How is it like to be a tech journalist
- Our thoughts on trends and news in the tech industry
- How the team works
- Our direction and future plans
These are just starter topics to get things going. You can ask us anything, really. We donโt mind taking questions once in a while ๐
More about us:
Steven follows the shininess and brilliance of gadgets, social media and other cultural phenomena across Asia. Specialist areas of research include ecommerce, mobile, smartphone adoption, smart home gadgets, and cars. Heโs currently based near Shanghai.
Judith, or Jum as her family and friends call her, is the editor for Southeast Asia and sheโs based in Manila. She covers the Philippinesโ and Malaysiaโs tech startup scenes. She strives to write stories that spark conversations and bring about change.
Jeff is based in Tokyo, though he left his heart in the mountains of Hokkaido. When he isnโt snowboarding or playing with his daughter, he covers the Japanese tech scene and its impact on the local culture at large. Heโs written about everything from medicine and science to foreign policy in a career that has spanned the US, China, and Japan.
Malavika (or call her Malu) is an idea-chaser, trivia-junkie, inua. Malavika is a fictionista moonlighting as a scribe. She detests desks, will find excuse to step out of the cube and go far to hear a good story. She dreams of teaching yoga in the mountains, but for now, is in love with entrepreneurs and innovators. Her passion for storytelling has found a perfect match with the protean world of startups. How to tell their tales in compelling ways consumes her.
Now that you know us, ask away!
