Postman hits $5.6b valuation after $225m series D raise

“Application program interface (API) development platform Postman on Wednesday said it raised US$225 million at a valuation of US$5.6 billion, a little over a year after it entered the unicorn club with a valuation of US$2 billion,” reported Mint.

Details:

  • The funding lifts Postman’s valuation above other India-based software-as-a-service firms like Browserstack, Freshworks, and Icertis.
  • Existing investor Insight Partners returned to lead the series D round. Coatue Management, Battery Ventures, Bond, CRV, and Nexus Venture Partners also joined in.

Dive deeper:

  • The latest round brings the company’s total amount raised to more than US$430 million. Now, it looks to expand its teams in product, engineering, sales, and marketing.
  • Postman’s main product is its collaboration platform for API development, with Shopify, Cisco, and Imgur among its users.
  • The firm recently announced that it would be offering unlimited services for three-person teams under its free API collaboration plan.
