PopCap China: what you don’t get to see (PICS)

We went behind closed doors last week to the PopCap office in Shanghai, China, and boy do we have loads of interesting photos for you!

Did you know that PopCap China has been around for five years, and that it’s the headquarters of the Asia Pacific region? Ever since the EA acquisition, it’s also the only other solo PopCap office in the world apart from the main Seattle office.

The cool thing about PopCap China is that it doesn’t need permission to make decisions. It knows its local market well enough to be allowed that privilege. And that’s how you get games like Plants vs Zombies: Great Wall and Plants vs Zombies: Xi You, culturalized editions of the Plants vs Zombies game.

Apart from working on the highly popular Plants vs Zombies IP for the Greater China region, PopCap China are in charge of merchandise for the local market. Truckloads of merchandise. Take a look at their office:

And at all that super cute China exclusive merchandise!
