Founded in 2019, ValueChampion provides financial advice and product analyses, targeting individuals who are looking to obtain loans, credit cards, and insurance products. While the company is headquartered in New York, it only operates in Asian countries, namely Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, and India. By the end of 2020, it had over 200,000 consumers across its four markets.
After the acquisition, the fintech firm will become a subsidiary of PolicyPal, but ValueChampion’s websites will keep their own names and operations.
PolicyPal said that the move paves the way for its expansion into the financial planning and management sector.
In March 2020, PolicyPal was acquired by Hong Kong-based AMTD Digital, the digital finance arm of AMTD Group, for an eight-figure US dollar sum. Prior to the acquisition, the insurtech firm raised seed funding in a round led by 500 Startups.
