Education-focused fintech lender bags $7m series A funding
Pintek, an Indonesia-based fintech firm focused on the education sector, has raised US$7 million in its latest funding round.

- The new money – which goes to Socap Holding, the parent company of Pintek – boosts the startup’s total equity and debt funding raised to date to over US$35 million.
- The fintech firm will use the fresh funds to hire more employees and expand its commercial reach.
- In the first half of 2021, Pintek’s loan volume saw a 5x surge compared to the same period last year.

The startup has supported over 2,750 educational institutions, and it has reached over 650,000 students.
- In January, Pintek raised a US$21 million debt facility from US-based private debt investor Accial Capital.
