Philippine Gamers Association to host Diablo III tournament in celebration of Reaper of Souls launch

The Philippines won’t be having an official launch for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be a launch event at all. The Philippine Gamers Association, in collaboration with Asiasoft, will be hosting a Diablo III tournament on March 24, 2014, the eve of the worldwide release for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls.

All players who pre-purchase Diablo III: Reaper of Souls via the Philippine Gamers Association will be eligible to join in. There, the game is also sold at PhP 1,800 (about $3) less than external retailers, and will cost just PhP 1,700 (about $37).

The event will have three different contests—Time Eaters, a time-attack contest for teams, Two for the Road, a contest for pairs, and Council of the Beast for individual players.

Philippine Gamers Association pre-order customers will also be eligible to bid for the Resplendent Chests that will be auctioned throughout the event. Each Resplendent Chest is guaranteed to have one Diablo III: Reaper of Souls collector’s edition box and a mystery piece of official Diablo III merchandise.

The Diablo III Sanctioned tournament will be held at Station 168 – Eastwood Citywalk, Libis, Quezon City. The event will start at 2:00 P.M. and will end at 12:00 A.M. on March 24 (GMT+8), while the pre-purchased boxes will be released at midnight. More information can be found here.

UPDATE 19-03-14: Asiasoft is only a sponsor of the tournament and it is not officially sanctioned by Blizzard. The article has been edited to reflect this.
