Indian content marketplace raises $14.3m in series A money
India-based content marketplace Pepper Content has raised US$14.3 million in an extended series A funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners.

The round also saw participation from Tanglin Venture Partners, Lightspeed, Titan Capital, and a few angel investors.
Pepper Content was founded in 2017 by Anirudh Singla and Rishabh Shekhar, both alumni of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
The platform has nearly 7,000 active creators, Shekhar told Tech in Asia.
He disclosed that the company recorded a nearly 16x revenue growth in the last 14 months. It is also aiming to achieve a double-digit annual run rate (ARR) by the end of this year, up from its current US$8 million ARR, he added. The startup currently has over 160 staff members and is planning to hire 30 more people.
Pepper Content is a marketplace that connects businesses with content creators. Since its launch, it has onboarded more than 1,000 enterprises and startups. Its clientele includes Binance, Google, Adobe, Cred, and Groww.

Following the fundraise, Pepper Content plans to roll out its service in the US and aims to add graphic design, language translations, and videos to its host of content offerings.
In October 2020, the startup raised US$4.2 million in a Lightspeed-led series A round. To date, the company has raised nearly US$18.5 million.
