What people said about #tiasg2017

Two weeks ago, we concluded the sixth edition of our flagship conference with a record number of 5355 attendees (post-conference infographic coming up soon, stay tuned!). Curious to find out what Tech in Asia Singapore 2017 was like through their eyes? We took some time to go through social media and compiled some of their thoughts below.

Here’s a peek of their experience and what they said about #tiasg2017!

The excitement began very early in the morning. We were happy to have support from both local friends and those who came all the way from other parts of the world!

Some were really digging LINE CTO Euivin Park’s stylish hairdo.

We’re also glad those who couldn’t make it managed to gain insights and pick the brains of successful founders through our Facebook livestream!

If you didn’t have time to finish touring our startup exhibition, you’re not alone! Our attendee, Shu Uesugi, did an excellent walk-through video of Bootstrap Alley. Did you manage to spot yourself?

Some lucky attendees also got the chance to play with really cool gadgets at our VR zone!

While there were many highlights across both days, Alexis Ohanian’s session (and @garrytan) seemed to be a huge crowd favourite.

Soon enough, it was time for our signature pitch competition, Arena! As our judges went backstage to deliberate on the results, our Director of Content Strategy, David Corbin took the stage with his entertaining segment: Quiz Asia! The participants’ enthusiasm, witty answers and emoji stories gave the audience a really good laugh.

Top reason to stay til the end of #tiasg2017. Storytelling time 🤔

After almost two hours of nail-biting suspense, we finally came to the highlight of the evening when Swingvy was announced as the winner of Arena 2017. Congratulations, Swingvy!

Big props to the other Arena finalists who did amazing on stage too!

And with that, we’ve wrapped up yet another successful edition of our flagship conference in Singapore! Thank you to all attendees, sponsors, speakers, and volunteers for making this possible. We hope you enjoyed the conference as much as we did planning it for you 🙂
