Palantir posts $1.2b Q3 revenue on strong AI demand

Palantir reported Q3 revenue of US$1.2 billion, beating analyst estimates of US$1.1 billion, and raised its outlook for Q4 as demand for its AI software platform increased.

The US-based company, which provides analytics tools for governments and enterprises, said US government revenue rose 52% year-on-year to US$486 million.

Overall, Q3 revenue rose 63% from a year ago, while net income more than tripled to US$475.6 million.

Palantir now expects Q4 revenue of about US$1.3 billion, above analysts’ forecast of US$1.2 billion, and full-year sales of around US$4.4 billion.

US commercial revenue more than doubled to US$397 million in the quarter.

Palantir’s stock has surged over 170% this year, but analysts have raised concerns over its valuation relative to other tech firms.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

AIP demand is real, but the ceiling may be lower than hoped

  • Palantir posted 121% year over year (YoY) US commercial growth 1. RPO (contracted revenue not yet recognized) rose 66% to $2.6 billion 2, trailing new bookings and hinting growth could cool.
  • The Rule of 40 score hit 114% 1. The figure leans on a 51% adjusted operating margin 1 that may shrink as hiring picks up per management ahead of Q3 3.
  • International commercial revenue fell 3% YoY in Q2 3. AIP demand skews to the US, which raises doubts about global fit or sales and distribution reach.

Systems integrators can ride AIP momentum through Palantir’s channel programs

  • Systems integrators (IT services firms that implement and connect software across a customer’s tech stack) can plug in through routes. Carahsoft, a Master Government Aggregator (a distributor that helps software vendors sell to public-sector buyers), lists a Channel Partner Package for AIP Bootcamps 4. PVM, a federal data services firm with 60+ Palantir contracts, holds Gold tier in the Palantir U.S. Government Channel Partner Program 5.
  • Partnerships with Databricks 6 and Nvidia 7 open integration work for cloud consultancies or data engineering firms. Teams can build connectors, tune deployments, and tap services tied to $1.31 billion in US commercial total contract value (TCV) signed in Q3 1.
  • Customer count rose 45% YoY 1. Palantir also closed 204 deals of at least $1 million in Q3 1, which boosts demand for change management, training, and ontology development (designing standardized data models) beyond rollout.
