Blackbox Connect summer 2013

Pakistani startups Groopic and Tunacode have been accepted to be part of this summer’s Blackbox Connect program.

The two-week Blackbox Connect program is held in Silicon Valley for international startups and gives them the opportunity to live and collaborate with like-minded entrepreneurs from around the world. The immersion program is backed by Google Entrepreneurs. This summer’s course runs from July 15 to 26.

Groopic, once the app launches, will cleverly put the photographer back into photos with his or her buddies. Eyedeus, the company behind Groopic, was a part of the first batch of incubatees at Plan9, the Punjab government’s incubator.

Tunacode specialises in optimizing complex software to GPUs.

The two Pakistani startups will be joining with six others from around the world for the latest summer program. Check out this three-minute overview of Blackbox Connect:

Thrilled that of the half a dozen startups P@SHA put forward to Blackbox Connect from Pakistan, they were impressed enough with the entries to select two instead of just one which was the original plan. Really proud of the teams from Tunacode and Groopic. Way to go guys! You make us proud.
