OpenAI partners Accenture, TCS to roll out Codex
OpenAI expanded partnerships with consulting firms such as Accenture and TCS to help large companies deploy its Codex coding tools, and it launched Codex Labs to place specialists inside customer teams.
The move comes as rivals including Anthropic and major tech firms push harder for business AI customers in coding and enterprise software.
Codex can write and review code, and OpenAI said more than 4 million developers use it each week.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
OpenAI is shifting from smaller tests toward business software
- OpenAI has cut back or closed smaller experiments such as Sora, its AI video-generation tool. The company is putting more effort into ChatGPT, Codex, and products for business customers. Executives called the deprioritized work “side quests” 12.
- It is also building a desktop app that brings together ChatGPT, the Codex platform, and the Atlas browser. OpenAI plans to push Codex beyond coding into wider productivity work 3.
- The shift comes as Anthropic gains ground with corporate buyers. Its Claude models are being used for coding, reasoning, and enterprise deployments 1.
Control of company workflows could shape the next phase of AI competition
- OpenAI is working with Accenture and PwC, firms that often sway large IT purchases inside companies and can influence broader adoption 4.
- Its goal is to sit inside the full software development process by pairing AI models with integration help and organizational change work 4.
- If Codex becomes woven into a company’s development routines, moving to a rival product could get expensive and disruptive 4.
