In brief: India smart lock startup nabs $1.3m pre-series A funding
- India-based B2B smart lock maker Open Appliances or OpenApp has raised US$1.3 million in pre-series A funding from Unicorn India Ventures and KARSEMVEN Fund. Existing investors Axilor Capital and Zoho co-founder Kumar Vembu also participated.
- The company plans to invest in its core software access platform and launch two new smart devices by the end of 2019.
- OpenApp is already operational in Asia and Africa and will continue further expansion into these geographies.
