Ola Electric, the electric vehicle arm of Indian ride-hailing firm Ola, has announced that it will recall 1,441 of its electric scooters, Reuters reported.
The decision was made weeks after one of its vehicles caught fire. The company said that it will have diagnostics and health checks for scooters that were produced in the same batch.
Ola Electric said that the accident was an isolated one after the company did a preliminary assessment. However, it will still do the recall as a pre-emptive measure.
Other Indian EV startups such as Okinawa and PureEV have experienced similar incidents. Okinawa recalled 3,215 of its vehicles earlier this month after one of its scooters caught fire.
