Nice and clean? Google has finally removed the beta tag from its various products – Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Talk from both its enterprise and consumer versions. Gmail users are very much the most affected lot and many probably can’t get use to it!
Does that also mean that these products which are freed from the beta tag are also free from R & D? Bet not!
An extraction from Google Blog:
“Beta” will be removed from the product logos today, but we’ll continue to innovate and improve upon the applications whether or not there’s a small beta beneath the logo.”
As expected from Google, that is exactly what we, consumers wish to hear; continual improvement. Alright, here’s a remedy for people who can’t function properly without the beta tag. When you arrive at your Gmail page, go to “Labs” tab under Settings. Scroll down and you should be able to see this option.
