Singapore foodtech firm Next Gen appoints ex-Tesla exec to board

Next Gen, a Singapore-based foodtech startup, has named Rachel Konrad, a former executive of Tesla and Impossible Foods, as the company’s first independent board member.

Experience:

• During her stint as Tesla’s director of communications, Konrad wrote speeches, blogs, and other marketing content. She also worked alongside investors and politicians when Tesla launched its initial public offering in 2010.
• Konrad also previously served as the chief communications officer for Impossible Foods, where she collaborated with various stakeholders to build and promote the US-based foodtech firm’s brand.

More details:

• Konrad joins Next Gen’s existing board members, which include Eddy Ho, director of enterprise development at Temasek, and Meng Xiong Kuok, founder of K3 Ventures.
• Next Gen is using its seed money to recruit over 50 additional employees globally, including 40 in the US.
