Zoom plans AI controls, compliance tools for enterprises
Zoom introduced new AI governance tools for enterprise customers at Zoomtopia, adding centralised controls, compliance features, and deepfake detection.
Centralized AI Management is due in December 2026, custom AI guardrails in Q1 2027, and Compliance Manager for My Notes and Zoom Canvas in January 2027.
Compliance Manager will archive AI-generated notes, summaries, and documents. Microsoft Purview sensitivity label syncing for Zoom Meetings and Whiteboard is available now.
Archiving could matter in regulated sectors because existing books-and-records rules still apply to electronic communications and digital records generated or used by AI tools.
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has flagged recordkeeping and supervision as AI compliance issues.
Zoom said deepfake risk detection, due in December 2026, will analyze participant audio and video in real time and flag potentially altered media with a confidence indicator.
In a separate 2024 incident, a Hong Kong finance worker paid US$25 million after a video call with deepfaked executives.
