Zoom adds agents, document tools to AI Companion
Zoom announced updates to its AI Companion on March 10, 2026, that add agent builders, workflows, and AI canvases to help turn meeting content into usable deliverables.
The company said AI Companion monthly active users more than tripled year-on-year in Q4 FY26.
Zoom described the changes as part of a “system of action” to link conversations, content and context to execution.
Custom agents and workflow templates will let users automate tasks such as drafting post-meeting notes or updating CRMs, and are expected by April 2026.
Expanded connectors to services like ServiceNow, Box, and Google Drive are available now, according to Zoom.
Zoom said AI Docs, AI Sheets, and AI Slides will convert meeting insights into collaborative documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, with previews due in Spring 2026, and that its AI services offer cloud and future on-prem deployment options.

- New agent builders tie to a hunt for added revenue as Zoom’s growth slows to a projected 4.1% for fiscal year 2027 1.
- The base AI Companion comes with paid plans to boost use, while advanced AI features bring in money from its largest customers 1.
- Last quarter, all of Zoom’s top 10 customer experience deals included paid AI, and seven replaced leading contact center as a service (CCaaS) vendors, the company said 1.
- Next year’s growth plan leans on Custom AI Companion, a paid product built for enterprise needs 1.
Zoom’s AI strategy leans on neutrality against tech giants
- New workflows and connectors back Zoom’s focus on working across third-party tools instead of staying inside one suite 2.
- Microsoft and Google often bundle and favor their own stacks, but Zoom plugs into several ecosystems including Salesforce and Google Workspace 2.
- A federated AI system powers this approach (it routes tasks to models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, and others) which cuts reliance on one provider 2.
- Zoom aims to act as an automation layer across existing software that turns conversations into actions without forcing a switch in tools 2.
