Zomato food delivery’s chief operating officer resigns
Rinshul Chandra, chief operating officer (COO) of Zomato’s food delivery business, will resign effective Apr. 7.
The company announced his departure in an exchange filing, noting his role as a senior management member.
Chandra said he plans to pursue new opportunities that align with his evolving personal and professional goals. He expressed gratitude for his seven years at Zomato and wished the teams continued success.
Zomato has not yet named a successor.
His exit follows several leadership changes, including the resignation of cofounder and chief people officer Akriti Chopra in September 2024 and business finance head Hemal Jain in December 2024.
This resignation occurs as Zomato’s food delivery segment has experienced slowing growth in recent quarters.
Additionally, Zomato recently laid off around 600 employees from its customer support team. This move comes as the company focuses on AI-driven automation amid increasing competition in the quick commerce sector.
