Zomato faces insolvency case over $188k in unpaid dues
Zomato, a food delivery company, is facing an insolvency petition filed by Nona Lifestyle, a B2B apparel manufacturer, over alleged unpaid dues of 1.64 crore rupees (US$188,933).
The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has scheduled a hearing for Apr 3.
Nona Lifestyle alleges that Zomato did not make payments for uniforms and custom merchandise, including ICC World Cup 2023 jerseys, related to orders placed in 2023.
According to Nona Lifestyle, Zomato delayed payments and refused some deliveries, citing storage issues.
Zomato has denied these allegations, stating that Nona Lifestyle missed agreed delivery deadlines, which resulted in penalties under their contract.
The company claims it only paid for items that were delivered, after deducting penalties and adjusting the advance payment due to delays that affected its reputation.
