Zepto said to prepare for IPO by March-April 2025

Bengaluru-based quick commerce company Zepto is preparing for an IPO and is reportedly in talks to file draft documents by March or April 2025, according to sources.

If successful, Zepto would become the first independent quick commerce firm to list on India’s public market.

The company has recently obtained approval to move its holding entity from Singapore to India, which is a critical step in this process. Furthermore, India’s National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) is scheduled to hear Zepto’s reverse merger application on January 17, 2025. This hearing aims at finalizing its regional domicile shift to India.

A board meeting has been set for January 19 to discuss details related to the IPO size and the appointment of bankers. This meeting will also address resolutions regarding the transition of its holding entity to India. They will cover the necessary steps to become a public limited company before filing its draft red herring prospectus.

Competitors like Zomato and Swiggy have already listed parent companies overseeing similar platforms such as Blinkit and Instamart.
