Anthea, a Bermuda-based global cryptofintech group offering life insurance products denominated in cryptocurrencies through its wholly owned subsidiary Anthea Insurance Limited, has secured US$22 million in series A funding.

The round was led by Yunfeng Financial Group Limited, with participation from other investors in insurance, asset management, and fintech.

Anthea plans to use the funds to launch its first life insurance product denominated in Ethereum, which will be the world’s first such product, and to support business operations, innovation, and expansion in Asia.

Anthea Insurance Limited recently received in-principle approval from the Bermuda Monetary Authority to register as an Innovative Insurer.
