YouTube has launched new generative AI features for creators of Shorts.

These features include an image-to-video tool and new AI effects, currently available in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with plans for broader availability later this year.

The image-to-video tool enables users to convert a photo from their camera roll into a six-second video.

It provides suggestions based on the uploaded image, allowing users to animate photos or add movement to landscapes.

The AI effects feature allows creators to turn doodles into artistic visuals or change selfies into videos in various scenarios, such as swimming underwater.

Users can find these effects under the “Effects” icon in the Shorts camera by selecting the “AI” tab.
