YouTube has launched YouTube Labs, a platform for testing new AI features, starting with AI music hosts on its YouTube Music app.

The feature offers AI-generated commentary about songs and artists, which users can control through a new icon in the app.

YouTube is following Spotify, which introduced its own AI DJ feature in 2023 for Premium users, offering personalized music mixes and commentary.

YouTube Labs is currently open to a limited number of US-based users, with Premium subscribers given priority access to these experimental tools.
