YouTube has announced new AI initiatives for 2025 plans, with CEO Neal Mohan highlighting AI as a core focus.

This month, the platform will expand its auto-dubbing feature to all Partner Program members, helping creators translate videos into multiple languages.

YouTube is also enhancing its Content ID system to detect AI-generated content, specifically unauthorized uses of creators’ faces or voices, following a pilot program with the Creative Artists Agency.

The company is deploying machine learning technology to estimate users’ ages for age-appropriate recommendations, though details on its accuracy remain undisclosed.

Over the past year, YouTube has introduced AI tools for generating video ideas, creating thumbnails, and adding music to short videos, designed to assist rather than replace creators.

Other 2025 goals include strengthening its cultural influence, positioning creators as central to “new Hollywood,” and expanding its presence on TV, now the primary viewing medium in the US.
