Yahoo Japan mandates AI use for all employees

Yahoo Japan has announced that all 11,000 employees will be required to integrate generative AI into their daily tasks to enhance productivity.

The company aims to double productivity by 2028 through the adoption of AI tools.

The initiative will focus on automating routine tasks, including research, meeting documentation, expense management, and competitive analysis.

Yahoo Japan has developed internal tools such as SeekAI, which assists with expense claims and data searches using prompt templates.

The rollout will target tasks that account for around 30% of employees’ time, such as drafting, searching, and routine documentation.

AI will also be used to create agendas, summarize meetings, and proofread reports.

This will enable employees to prioritize decision-making and discussions.
