Y Combinator-backed Ego AI bags $6.7m to launch human-like characters
Ego AI has launched character.world, a platform for creating AI-powered characters designed to behave more like humans in games and digital environments.
To accelerate development, ego AI recently raised US$6.7 million in seed funding from investors including Patron, Y Combinator, Accel, Boost VC, and several tech industry angels.
The San Francisco-based company, which develops AI character technology, also introduced the Character Context Protocol (CCP), an open-source framework aimed at helping AI characters retain personalities and memories across platforms like games, apps, and Discord.
The company said CCP is already being used to support characters in Unity, Unreal Engine, Roblox, and Discord applications.
Developers can access CCP specifications now, with an SDK available via a waitlist.
Ego AI has partnered with AI Singapore and Singapore universities to support model training and research collaboration.
Ego AI is also launching Accomplice, an AI-powered social deduction game for Discord, with a Steam version planned.
