XRP jumps 7% as Franklin Templeton launches new crypto ETF
XRP rose 7% on November 25, 2025 marking its strongest breakout in weeks as two new exchange-traded funds (ETFs) linked to the token began trading on NYSE Arca.
The ETFs, launched by Franklin Templeton and Grayscale, drove nearly US$180 million in inflows to XRP, even as the broader cryptocurrency market experienced outflows.
Franklin Templeton is waiving fees on the first US$5 billion in assets until May 2026, increasing competition among ETF issuers.
XRP’s price climbed from US$2.10 to US$2.3, with trading volume reaching 227.5 million — 162% above its 24-hour average — indicating strong institutional participation.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
XRP ETF inflows may not match primary demand
- The reported $180 million in “inflows” likely came from secondary market activity in the exchange traded funds (ETFs) or counted early Assets Under Management (AUM), not confirmed primary share creations 1, and GXRP held $13.48 million on November 24 2, a pattern tied to secondary trading or carryover from the prior private placement (a pre-listing sale to accredited investors) started in September 2024 1.
- Read prospectuses for authorized participants plus creation or redemption mechanics (the process that adds or removes shares to keep prices aligned with the value of XRP). These setups plus GXRP’s exchange traded product status without Investment Company Act of 1940 (the “1940 Act”) protections can sway tracking and liquidity during volatility 2.
Data firms can grab ETF plumbing early
- Build real time XRP ETF dashboards for GXRP with XRPZ, Franklin Templeton’s XRP fund ticker. Track holdings plus creations or redemptions and premium or discount to Net Asset Value (NAV). GXRP’s post-waiver 0.35% fee 2 and Franklin’s 0.2% sponsor fee 3 squeeze margins, so retail brokerages and registered investment advisers (RIAs) need execution tools to surface best prices.
- Waivers set a short window as GXRP waives fees on its first $1 billion or three months 2 while Franklin waives on $5 billion until May 2026 3. Firms that pull in ETF ticker data and daily basket feeds (the assets used to create or redeem shares) can win deals with wealth platforms before 100+ crypto ETF launches over six months 4.
