Xpeng targets 90,000 overseas deliveries
Chinese EV maker Xpeng aims to double its overseas sales in 2026 amid increased competition domestically, according to sources familiar with its plans.
The Guangzhou-based company expects to deliver over 90,000 vehicles outside China this year, representing about 15% of its target annual output, with a focus on Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
Last year, Xpeng shipped 45,008 vehicles abroad, nearly doubling its exports from 2023. The company is expanding its dealer network and promoting higher-end models like the G6 SUV and X9 MPV.
Industry analysts note that export growth may slow in 2026 due to industry overcapacity and reduced government incentives.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Xpeng’s 90,000 overseas sales target requires clarity on Europe tariff exposure and local-assembly plans
- To assess whether Xpeng can sell more than 90,000 vehicles overseas, the sales split across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East needs to be spelled out.
- European Union countervailing duties on imported Chinese battery electric vehicles (BEVs) are being treated as a swing factor 1.
- A forecast is needed for how many units will be imported BEVs versus locally assembled BEVs, including any European assembly arrangements similar to those in Southeast Asia. Tariff exposure by powertrain type should also be laid out to judge the Europe plan 2.
