Xpeng plans to sell AI, vehicle tech beyond Volkswagen: sources
Xpeng, a Guangzhou-based Chinese electric vehicle maker, plans to offer vehicle and AI technology to foreign automakers beyond Volkswagen.
The move is aimed at creating new revenue streams, according to two people familiar with the matter.
The offering would include electrical and electronic architecture, cockpit systems, Turing AI chips, and advanced driver-assistance software, the people said.
It could later expand to robotaxis, robotics, and other physical AI applications.
The move would build on a relationship that already goes beyond Volkswagen’s 4.99% stake.
The two companies agreed to co-develop two smart electric vehicles for China.
The first jointly developed model entered mass production in March 2026.
