Xpeng to launch humanoid robots globally next year
Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng plans to launch humanoid robots globally next year.
The company aims to raise output to 1,000 units a month by the end of that year, as Chinese manufacturers push robots into factories and other commercial settings.
The plan builds on Xpeng’s existing robotics program. The company launched its first-generation IRON robot in 2024 and later said its next model would enter commercial and industrial setting, including Baosteel for inspection work.
Xpeng also aims to produce advanced humanoid robots at scale by the end of 2026.
The broader sector is also moving onto factory floors. Shenzhen-based Ubtech, a robotics company, in March 2025 deployed dozens of Walker S1 humanoids at Zeekr’s EV plant for material handling and other factory tasks.
Supplier activity is also increasing, with Leaderdrive fulfilling R&D orders from Tesla and Nvidia-backed Figure AI.
