Xpeng expands to 60 markets by 2025
Xpeng aims to expand its international presence from 30 to 60 markets by the end of 2025, as announced by CEO He Xiaopeng on Feb. 22 in Guangzhou.
This coincides with the company’s first global shipment of the X9, a seven-seat MPV, with 300 right-hand drive units heading to Thailand.
Currently, the G6 is the only Xpeng model available there, but more models are planned as part of the company’s global strategy.
Xpeng is also enhancing its charging infrastructure, with ultra-fast charging stations set for Thailand and Hong Kong in early 2025.
The company plans to begin testing its autonomous driving system in international markets this year, aiming for self-driving vehicles by 2026.
Its ‘go-global 2.0 strategy’ expands beyond Europe and Southeast Asia to include the Middle East and Africa.
Vice chairman and president Brian Gu said that international sales made up 13% of total sales in 2024, with a goal for global markets to contribute half of total sales by 2027.
