Xiaomi to expand EV sales globally after SU7 Ultra success
Xiaomi announced plans to sell EVs outside of China “within the next few years,” according to company president William Lu at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona on Mar. 2
This follows the launch of its premium EV, the SU7 Ultra, in China, priced at 529,000 yuan (US$72,627).
Over 15,000 units were sold within 24 hours of its late February release.
Xiaomi entered the EV market in 2021, debuting the SU7 in March 2024. The model has since sold over 100,000 units, though Xiaomi’s EVs remain exclusive to China.
