Xiaomi to launch first electric SUV in mid-2025
Xiaomi plans to introduce its first electric SUV, the YU7, in June or July of next year.
This marks the company’s latest move into China’s expanding electric vehicle (EV) market.
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reports that the YU7 will feature fully electric capabilities and reach speeds up to 253 kilometers per hour.
The SUV’s batteries will be manufactured by a division of CATL, a prominent Chinese battery producer.
The YU7 comes after the company enters the EV market earlier this year with the SU7 sedan, which launched at a price below US$30,000.
