Xiaomi Auto recalls 30,931 SU7 EVs over parking feature bug

Xiaomi Auto, a subsidiary of Xiaomi, has recalled 30,931 SU7 standard edition EV.

The recall affects models produced from Feb. 6, 2024, to Nov. 26, 2024, due to a malfunction in the autonomous parking feature.

The issue is caused by a software error that disrupts time synchronization, preventing the vehicle from detecting static obstacles while parking. This can result in scratches or collisions.

The problem was reported by over 70 SU7 owners who experienced failures with the autonomous parking feature on Nov. 14, 2024, leading to complaints.

Xiaomi Auto has identified the issue as a system bug and will address it with a free over-the-air software update.

Despite this setback, Xiaomi Auto delivered over 130,000 SU7 vehicles in 2024 and plans to launch its second model, the YU7, in mid-2025.
