Workday agrees to buy AI firm Sana for $1.1b

Workday has agreed to acquire Sana, an AI company focused on enterprise knowledge tools, for around US$1.1 billion.

The deal is expected to close in Q4 of Workday’s fiscal year 2026, ending January 31, 2026, pending customary closing conditions.

Workday, a US-based enterprise software provider specializing in HR and finance solutions, serves more than 11,000 organizations worldwide.

Founded in 2016, Sana develops AI-powered products such as Sana Learn and Sana Agents, used by over 1 million users across various enterprises.

Workday said Sana’s technology will be integrated to enhance its existing platform, while Sana will continue to develop its own products.
