White House says Apple may shift iPhone production to US
As new tariffs on imports are set to take effect, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt indicated that Apple might consider moving iPhone manufacturing to the United States.
She connected this possibility to Apple’s announced US$500 billion investment plan in the US.
Leavitt said that the US workforce and resources could support such manufacturing.
This aligns with comments from US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who suggested that tariffs could prompt significant shifts in production.
Currently, Apple has not announced any plans to relocate iPhone manufacturing as tariffs are set to be implemented.
