WhatsApp said on October 15 that it is adding guest calling, which lets users invite people without an account to join end-to-end encrypted calls through a link opened in a computer browser.

Guests enter a waiting room until the host approves them. They also cannot see other participants’ phone numbers, send messages, or invite others directly.

Only people with WhatsApp accounts can create call links. Guests can join one-to-one and group calls with up to 32 participants.

The update comes after WhatsApp said in May 2025 that it had more than 3 billion monthly users. WhatsApp also said integrations with Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook are planned for later in 2026.
