Wavemaker Partners has led a US$1.5 million seed+ funding round of Vama, an app providing spiritual services such as an online puja (ceremonial worship). The early-stage VC firm contributed US$1.1 million of the total.

Vama will use the new capital for recruitment, product development, and tech enhancements.

The deal also marks one of Wavemaker’s first investments in an India-incorporated tech company.
