Warner Music Group to expand global tech with Bengaluru hub
Warner Music Group, a US-based music and entertainment company, said on August 18 that it is expanding its Global Tech division with a Bengaluru hub set to open next month.
The hub will support music distribution, data infrastructure, audience and marketing data products, and engineering work using AI and other technologies. WMG said it is hiring for several technology roles.
The move expands WMG’s presence in India. Warner Music India is based in Mumbai, so the Bengaluru site adds to the company’s operations in the country rather than marking a new market entry.
The expansion in India is led by Mahesh Rao, WMG’s director of software engineering and site lead for India. He reports to CTO Leho Nigul and previously worked at Walmart Global Tech.
The new hub also adds to WMG’s global technology organization under Nigul, who has led teams across licensing, royalty management, fan engagement, and AI projects.
