Walmart plans to deploy AI-driven “super agents” to enhance customer experience and streamline internal processes.

These agents will support shoppers, employees, suppliers, sellers, and developers, acting as centralized tools for all interactions. The four super agents will replace existing AI tools and introduce new features.

This initiative supports Walmart’s goal to have ecommerce contribute 50% of total revenue within five years.

The company reported US$648 billion in annual sales last year.

One agent, Sparky, is already available in the Walmart app. It helps customers with product suggestions, finding items, and summarizing reviews. Future updates may include reordering, event planning, and recipe suggestions using computer vision.

Another agent will assist employees with tasks like leave applications and real-time sales data.

For suppliers and advertisers, an agent named Marty will help with onboarding, order management, and ad creation.

A separate Developer agent will allow testing and launching of new AI tools.

Walmart has not said if jobs will be affected but mentioned new roles may emerge.
