Vivo becomes top smartphone brand in India

Vivo has become the top smartphone brand in India for the third quarter of this year, according to data from research firm Canalys.

The Chinese company shipped 9.1 million units, securing a 19% market share. This marks a 26% increase from the previous year.

Xiaomi secured the second position with 7.8 million units, translating to a 17% share of the market.

Samsung followed closely with 7.5 million units, achieving a 16% share.

Oppo demonstrated the fastest growth among the top five brands. Its shipments rose by 43%, totaling 6.3 million units and a 13% market share.

Realme, an Oppo spin-off, ranked fifth, capturing an 11% market share with 5.3 million units shipped.

In total, India’s smartphone market expanded by 9% in the quarter, with 47.1 million handsets shipped.
