Visa unveiled its Singapore Security Roadmap 2026 and Beyond on September 9, updating a plan it said it first launched in 2019 as scams, fraud, and cyber threats evolve in the AI era.

The roadmap covers six priorities: cybersecurity, authentication, tokenisation, ecommerce checkout, standards and risk programs, and broader payments ecosystem resilience.

Visa said this work will involve regulators, financial institutions, merchants, fintech firms, and other industry partners.

Visa cited a commissioned study that found 42% of Singapore residents had encountered scams. Another 8% said they had lost money.

The company also said it deploys more than 150 AI and machine learning models globally to identify fraud, improve authentication, and protect digital payments.

The update comes as the Monetary Authority of Singapore maintains a combatting scams framework and has issued anti-scam measures for major payment institutions.

Singapore authorities also published an annual scam and cybercrime brief.

A separate police update said scam and cybercrime cases fell by almost a quarter in 2025, though the situation still remained concerning.
