Visa said on October 20 that it launched a pilot with San Jose-based Bill, a financial software company, and Billtrust, a business-to-business (B2B) accounts receivable software provider, to let AI agents complete approved invoice payments between buyer and supplier platforms.

Billtrust runs supplier payment portals. The pilot uses Visa authentication tools and tokenized credentials so approved AI agents can complete invoice payments without shared logins for supplier portals.

The companies said the pilot was already processing transactions for participating BILL buyers and Billtrust suppliers.
