Vingroup seeks $500m private credit for EV charging network: report

Vingroup, a Vietnam-based conglomerate, is reportedly seeking a US$500 million private credit loan to expand its electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the region.

The company began talks with private credit funds in late September 2025, with the loan expected to carry an interest rate of about 10% or less.

Vingroup and its subsidiaries have recently raised funds, including a US$150 million loan for VinFast Auto from Barclays in September 2025 and a US$510 million private credit facility in July 2025.

Vingroup chairman Pham Nhat Vuong, who also founded VinFast, established V-Green last year to develop the EV charging network.

The firm, 90% owned by Vuong, plans to co-invest US$300 million with four companies to build charging stations in Indonesia.

Vingroup declined to comment on the loan plan but said it regularly reviews funding options to support its EV infrastructure expansion.
