VinFast offers dealers up to $60,000 to open EV showrooms
VinFast, a Vietnam-based electric vehicle maker, announced incentives on October 13 of up to US$60,000 for each new electric motorcycle showroom its dealer partners open in Indonesia and the Philippines by December 31, 2026.
The package includes up to US$40,000 per showroom, depending on size, floor area, and dealership standards.
Partners can get up to US$5,000 more for openings by October 31, and up to US$15,000 extra per showroom if they open at least three stores.
VinFast said it had 63 electric motorcycle dealerships across the two markets as of September and was targeting hundreds of stores in each country by the end of 2026.
It opened its first Indonesian dealer store in April 2024 and later said it would open over 60 more outlets across both markets.
Indonesia’s electric two-wheeler market is forecast to grow.
The country widened subsidy access in 2023, though the planned subsidy was later cut to 3 million rupiah (US$170) per motorcycle in August 2026.
VinFast has continued to post losses as it expands overseas.
