VinFast names founder’s son as chairman of its board
VinFast, a Vietnamese electric vehicle maker, said it appointed its founder Pham Nhat Vuong’s son as chairman of its board, effective May 23.
Pham Nhat Quan Anh is vice chairman and standing deputy general director at VinFast Trading and Production JSC.
He has replaced Le Thi Thu Thuy, who will step down as chairwoman and board member, but will remain Vingroup’s vice chairwoman.
Her tenure at VinFast included serving as global CEO and later board chair. The company had previously linked her leadership to its North America expansion, the US listing, and fundraising efforts.
The EV maker did not disclose any other board or executive changes with the appointment.
The move follows a broader 2024 reshuffle that moved the company’s founder from chairman to CEO and managing director.
In the second quarter of 2025, VinFast delivered 35,837 electric vehicles, reported 16.6 trillion dong (US$629.8 million) in revenue, and posted a 20.3 trillion dong (US$770 million) net loss.
