VinFast delivers 175,099 EVs in 2025

VinFast delivered 175,099 EVs in Vietnam in 2025, setting a new annual record for the country’s auto market.

The company, based in Vietnam, reported its highest monthly deliveries in December 2025, with 27,649 vehicles.

VinFast said its 2025 sales were nearly double the highest annual deliveries previously reported by foreign automakers in Vietnam.

The company’s lineup includes compact models like the VF 3, VF 5, and VF 6, as well as larger SUVs and commercial vehicles such as Limo Green and Herio Green.

VinFast also expanded its service network to 400 workshops and installed over 150,000 charging ports across 34 provinces and cities.

VinFast said demand for its vehicles remained strong across all major segments in December.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

VinFast deliveries likely include big GSM fleet buys

  •  VinFast’s 2025 delivery figure of 175,099 vehicles may be supported by sales to Green and Smart Mobility (GSM), a VinFast-only taxi operator affiliated with Vingroup, a Vietnamese conglomerate that founded VinFast. GSM is weighing a Hong Kong IPO at a $2–3 billion valuation as early as late 2026 or early 2027, and plans remain tentative 1.
  •  Sales to GSM fell from 72% of total sales in 2023 to 26% by Q3 2025 1. VinFast has not said how many 2025 deliveries went to GSM or retail buyers. GSM held about 40% in Q1 2025 per Mordor Intelligence, while a Rakuten Insight survey put it at 35% 1.

Vietnam charging expansion and rules open paths for operators

  •  VinFast has installed over 150,000 charging ports across 34 provinces and cities. V-Green, VinFast’s charging network, offers free charging through mid-2027. Vietnam had about 350,000 electric cars and 2.5 million electric motorbikes by mid-2025, with totals expected to double by 2030 2.
  •  Decree 57/2025 lets charging businesses join direct power purchase agreements (DPPAs), which let large buyers buy power directly from generators and can lower costs 3. Vendors building Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) software and energy management systems can plan around the national technical regulation (QCVN) for charging gear, drafted but not yet issued as of late 2025. It will set mandatory technical and safety standards 2.
