VinFast collaborates to enhance EV after-sales service in Indonesia
VinFast has signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with Goodyear Indonesia, Dunlop, Denso Sales Indonesia, CARfix, and Scuto Paint to expand electric vehicle after-sales services in Indonesia.
VinFast, a Vietnam-based EV maker, entered the Indonesian market in 2024.
Under the MOUs, Goodyear will supply tires and offer maintenance at its service centers, while Dunlop will certify some of its shops as authorized VinFast workshops for EV servicing and charging station support.
Denso Sales Indonesia will provide repair and maintenance under VinFast certification, and CARfix will deliver general after-sales services like oil changes and diagnostics.
Scuto Paint will handle body and paint repairs for VinFast vehicles.
VinFast’s service network currently covers Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, and other major Indonesian cities.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
VinFast’s after-sales MOUs signal preparation for growth in Indonesia
- VinFast signed after-sales MOUs with Goodyear, Dunlop, and Denso 1. It also partnered with CARfix and Scuto Paint 1. The company has not shared Indonesia sales or registration numbers in recent reports 1.
- Among Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) brands in Indonesia the company ranked in the top 5 for the first nine months of 2025 with about 5% share 1. PwC lists 27,616 EVs in Q1 2025, which cover all EV sales, not year-to-date BEV wholesales 2. Converting that figure into VinFast units would mislead 2.
- Timing lines up with a planned March 2026 launch of the Limo Green seven-seater and the start of operations at the Subang assembly plant (a planned facility in West Java) 3. These MOUs look like groundwork for future service coverage, not a reaction to current capacity limits 3.
Independent charging operators can use VinFast partners for co-located stations
- Charging infrastructure firms in Indonesia can pursue co-location (placing charging equipment at the same sites) at Goodyear, Dunlop, and CARfix service centers. This can cut site acquisition costs and tap existing foot traffic.
- Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), Indonesia’s state-owned electricity utility, runs 3,772 Stasiun Pengisian Kendaraan Listrik Umum (SPKLU) units for four-wheelers as of March 2025 and offers incentives for public-private partnerships such as lower electricity connection costs 4.
- Indonesia EV sales grew 152.9% in 2024 to 43,000 units, and the government targets 2 million electric cars by 2030 5. Operators that set up at these service centers now can win early share as VinFast and rivals increase deliveries.
