VinFast has partnered with AI firm Autobrains to develop a low-cost self-driving system, aiming to enhance its electric vehicles with improved driver assistance features.

The collaboration focuses on upgrading VinFast’s existing Level 2 driver assistance technology on models like the VF 8 and VF 9, with testing already underway.

The companies are also working on a Robo-Car architecture that relies on seven cameras and a high-performance computing chip, eliminating the need for expensive sensors such as LiDAR or radar.

Testing of the Robo-Car system is happening in Hanoi, with plans to expand to larger cities and international markets.
